The Presidents of Iran and Russia emphasised the need for cooperation and coordination between the countries of the region to solve the problems between them, and called the presence of extra-regional forces in the Caucasus a threat to all the countries of the region.

Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi had a telephone conversation with Mr Vladimir Putin, the President Russia, and stated, "The Islamic Republic of Iran supports the national sovereignty of Russia".
Stating that we consider the presence of extra-regional forces as a threat to all the countries of the region, Dr Raisi added, "We follow the developments in the Caucasus region with sensitivity and seriousness, and we believe that the conflicts in the Caucasus should be resolved with the role of the countries of the region".
The Russian President Vladimir Putin, while congratulating the arrival of Eid al-Adha, and reported on the recent armed rebellion in the country, saying, "Russia acted with strength against this rebellion".
Referring to the situation in the Caucasus, Putin also emphasised the negative consequences of the actions of extra-regional forces in these developments and the need to solve the problems between them through the cooperation and coordination of the neighbouring countries.
The Presidents of Iran and Russia also reviewed the bilateral economic and trade relations and emphasised on the rapid implementation of the agreements and called the Tehran-Moscow cooperation model in the North-South Corridor as a successful example for the interaction of the two countries, which can be extended to other areas.
Strengthening the Astana process regarding Syria was another topic emphasised by the two Presidents.
