The President considered solving the country's problems to be dependent on jihadist work and clarified, "Surely, if jihadist work was carried out in the country, the implementation of the Hoveyzeh gas refinery project should not have taken so long, but the Popular Administration will make maximum use of the opportunity and time gained to arrange the works and projects".
Speaking on Friday afternoon following the plans of the Popular Administration's trip to Khuzestan in the launching ceremony of the first phase of the Persian Gulf Hoveyzeh Gas Refining Company, Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi called the completion and launch of this project as a lasting and admirable measure of Iranian experts, and appreciated all those involved".
Dr Raisi further emphasised the special attention to joint oil and gas fields and said, "Joint oil and gas fields are the wealth and capital of this country and people. In this government, good measures have been taken to fulfil the rights of the nation in these fields, which should be continued and not neglected in this field".
The President then pointed to the issue of gas from refinery flares and its destructive economic and environmental effects and said, "Fortunately, with the launch of this refinery, a significant part of these gases will be collected, and we hope that according to the promise of the officials of the Ministry of Oil, by the end of the year, the gas from all flares of the country's refineries will be collected".
Ayatollah Raisi stated, "With the start of the operation of this complex, 250 million cubic feet of gas, which was previously burned in torches, will be injected into the national gas network, which will increase to 500 million cubic feet in the next few months".
Dr Raisi stated that preventing the wastage of national capital, creating added value, solving the country's gas imbalance, increasing production and creating jobs are among the opportunities provided by the establishment of the Hoveyzeh refinery and added, "Such measures are profitable and beneficial for both the country and the people".

Referring to the repeated emphasis of the Supreme Leader of the Revolution to prevent the sale of raw materials in the country, Dr Raisi said, "Using the capacity of downstream industries in creating added value and preventing the sale of raw materials will definitely help the country's economic growth and job creation".
In another part of his speech, Ayatollah Raisi described Hoveyzeh as a city of resistance, martyrdom and courage and added, "The martyrs of this region and its resilient and strong-willed men and women are an inspiration to us".
Appreciating the valuable role of workers in the construction and completion of construction projects in the country, Dr Raisi emphasised the need to employ committed, motivated and native forces for the development of Khuzestan province.
Dr Raisi also pointed to the issue of social responsibilities of construction projects and said, "It should be carefully monitored that the share of 12 trillion tomans of social responsibilities of the oil and gas industry is solely in line with the development of the province".
