Stating that the Islamic Republic of Iran does not see any obstacles or restrictions on the path of developing relations with Pakistan, the President stated, "The current level of relations between Tehran and Islamabad is not commensurate with the diverse capacities of the two countries, and the regular holding of the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation can pave the way for improving the level of relations between the two countries”.

Dr Raisi: Iran sees no obstacles in deepening ties with Pakistan/ Shehbaz Sharif: Pakistan-Iran ties beyond neighbourly relations, but brotherly for centuries

Speaking in response to the phone call of Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday evening, Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi congratulated the government and nation of the country on the arrival of Eid al-Adha, and said, "The Islamic Republic of Iran attaches great importance to its relations with Pakistan”.
Stating that the current level of Tehran-Islamabad relations is not in line with the diverse capacities of the two countries, the president added, "We are ready to expand fields of relations and increase exchanges and cooperation between the two countries, especially in the fields of energy and agriculture”.
Stating that the Islamic Republic of Iran does not see any obstacles or restrictions on the path of developing relations with Pakistan, the President stated, "The regular holding of the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation can pave the way for improving the level of relations between the two countries”.
Expressing satisfaction that Iran can receive Pakistani pilgrims of Imam Reza (AS), the President stated, "Iran is the best friend of the neighbouring countries in different situations”.
In this telephone conversation, Mr Shehbaz Sharif, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, congratulated the President, the government and the people of Iran, as well as the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, on the arrival of Eid al-Adha, and thanked the assistance of the Islamic Republic of Iran in extinguishing the fire in a part of the country's forests, as well as Iran’s hospitality in receiving the Pakistani pilgrims of Imam Reza (AS)”.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan stated that the relations between Pakistan and Iran have continued for centuries as brotherly relations beyond the neighbourly relations and both countries belong to the same religion and are part of the same family, adding, "I would like to thank Iran for its efforts to develop relations with neighbouring countries, including Pakistan”.
Emphasising the need to hold the meeting of the joint commission for economic cooperation between the two countries as soon as possible, Shehbaz Sharif added, "Pakistan is interested in expanding the exchange of goods and bartering, as well as cooperation in the field of energy with Iran”.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan emphasised, "We want the return of peace and stability to Afghanistan and the improvement of the living conditions of the people of the country, as well as the provision of grounds for the return of Afghan refugees to their own country”.
