Facilitating the entry and exit of goods to customs gov't key priority/ Accelerating the clearance of priority goods vital for the country

The 230th meeting of the Cabinet's Economic Coordination Board was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of the President, in which a report on the latest situation of import of goods in the country's customs, as well as inventory of basic goods in warehouses and customs and measures taken to quickly clear these goods and distribute them to the consumer market was presented and discussed.

In this regard, Dr Hassan Rouhani described facilitating the entry and exit of goods in the country's customs as one of the important priorities of the government in the field of trade, and added, "The clearance of the goods from customs must be done in the quickest time possible".

In this regard, referring to the launch of a comprehensive trade system, Dr Rouhani said, "Considering the abundant inventory of goods in the country's customs and the progress that has been made in the field of information registration, clearance and expediting the minimisation of clearance time is one of the vital necessities of the country".

The President also instructed the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade to provide basic goods and the needs of the country's production sector in coordination with the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance, the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad and the Central Bank in accordance with the instructions to expedite the clearance of priority goods.

In this meeting, it was emphasised that according to the notification of approvals related to solving the problem of depositing basic goods in customs and ports and the loans provided, the owners of goods should immediately take action to determine the duties of their goods.

Dr Rouhani added, "Although the oppressive sanctions against the country have made it difficult to access foreign currency and the Central Bank has made great efforts to provide the required currency and provide it to importers of livestock food, but with the planned measures, we will not have any problem in providing livestock food in the current year".
