Iran filed complaint with ICJ against U.S./We will follow the $2 billion case until the nation's rights are realized

The government of the Islamic Republic of Iran has officially filed a complaint against the U.S. to with the International Court of Justice over the confiscation of Iran's $2 billion, said President Rouhani at a breaking-fast meal ceremony with families of martyrs and war veterans.

"The government will follow the case until the nation's rights are realized and the money is back, along with its compensation," said the President late on Wednesday.

"Following up on people's rights is the path of martyrs," continued Rouhani.

He added: "American courts have issued illegal verdicts and claimed that these assets should be allocated to the Americans and the families of those who were killed in Lebanon; it is not clear what Americans were doing in Lebanon and how does this issue concern Iran".

"We should no remain silent about this and yesterday, we officially filed a complaint with the ICJ and we will follow up on this issue until a result is yielded".

He also referred to people's self-sacrifice during the Islamic Revolution and the Sacred Defence, and added: "We could resist against conspiracies of the enemies who had join hands to bring the Iranian nation to its knees".
