President at the meeting of the High Council and Managing Directors of the FTZs:

Economy of Resistance possible through deed, planning/Gov’t followed EoR policies/Sustainable decrease in inflation rate gov’t policy/Attempts should increase in economic growth, boost

“Economy of Resistance (EoR) will be possible through action, deed, planning and avoiding slogans,” said President Rouhani at the meeting of the High Council and Managing Directors of the FTZs.

In this meeting which took place on Tuesday, Dr Rouhani said: “One of the important and emphasized parts of EoR policies is constructive interaction with the world and the path of the 11th government from its early days has been EoR”.

He also stressed non-oil exports and said: “This is an issue that have been emphasized in the framework of EoR policies,” adding: “Free zones should be forerunners of implementing EoR policies”.

Referring to government’s economic policies for decreasing inflation and harnessing stagnation, Dr Rouhani continued: “Decreasing the inflation rate and bringing it to single digits has been, and will be, the government’s sustainable policy”.

On the government’s political achievements, he also said: “The Iranian nation in 1394 –last year on Iranian calendar- during negotiations with 5+1 succeeded in achieving a great political and legal victory in the history of Iran”.

“We should be able to use the new atmosphere with firm resolve for achieving development and prosperity for the country,” he said, mentioning post-sanctions and post-JCPOA era.

President Rouhani also underlined issues such as employment and its relationship with oil incomes as a detrimental factor, as well as the government’s achievements in agriculture.

He continued: “Using water resources efficiently in Iran as a dry country should be paid attention specifically”.

“The process of purchasing airplanes for establishing safer air travel and people’s improved welfare has started,” the President said, stressing the need to renovate airlines in the country.

He also underlined further strengthening of infrastructures in the free zones for investment and said that Khoramshahr and Abadan should turn into the most prosperous cities in Iran.

“Chabahar is a very important corridor of north to south and it will have a great future” he continued.

On attempts that the government has made for Kish Free Trade Zone in the past two years, Dr Rouhani added: “1395 will be a very special year for FTZs in full exploitation of post-JCPOA atmosphere and our base of action will be paragraph 11 of the EoR policies”.

President was also briefed on the conditions and achievements of various FTZs across the country.
