President in a phone conversation with Sultan Qaboos:

Iran is eager to consolidate trade and commerce ties with Oman

President Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday said Iran gives special priority to its neighbors, especially Oman, when it comes to consolidation of cooperation.

Dr. Rouhani in a phone conversation with Sultan Qaboos bin Said of Oman, said: 'In the post-sanctions era, the Islamic Republic of Iran is eager to consolidate ties with Oman in various fields, especially trade and commerce.'
President appreciating Oman for its constructive role in regional developments, saying Iran and Oman must cooperate to restore peace and security in the region.
Dr.Rouhani praised Oman’s stance on regional developments and its humanitarian aid to the Yemeni people and expressed hope that peace and stability would be restored to the war-stricken country.

President has strongly condemned airstrikes against civilians, infrastructure and specifically diplomatic missions in Yemen, added that ‘We are concerned about the aggressive forces' disregard of international regulations and norms, and these actions, particularly attacks on diplomatic sites, should be strongly condemned as an incorrect and inhuman act.’

Dr.Rouhani expressed hope for a ceasefire in Yemen on the occasion of the Eid al-Adha under the aegis of efforts by Oman and particularly Sultan Qaboos as well as other peace-seeking countries; he regretted the international community's refusal to take serious action for establishing a ceasefire in Yemen.

Sultan Qaboos, for his part said Oman is willing that in the post-sanctions era, to enhance level of cooperation with Iran.

Sultan Qaboos said Muscat would proceed with consultation with other countries to help establish peace and stability in Yemen and would send more humanitarian aid to the war-hit country.

Referring to the Saudi air raids on the residential and diplomatic areas in Yemen, the Omani Sulatan said Muscat strongly condemns such attacks and wants immediate cessation of the raids.
