President in a meeting with new Georgian Ambassador:

Development of Iran-Georgia railway to benefit entire region

President Hassan Rouhani said on Tuesday that development of the railway project joining Iran and Georgia will benefit the entire region.

The President made the remarks when he received the credentials of the newly-appointed Georgian Ambassador to Tehran Loseb Chakhvashvili.
President Rouhani said that Iran was ready to expand relations with Georgia.
He hoped the new ambassador would explore the grounds to enhance level of mutual relations in all fields.
Referring to the historical ties between the two nations, he said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is willing to develop economic cooperation with Georgia.
Iran is going to connect its railway network to Georgia through Azerbaijan.
Meanwhile, the ambassador briefed the President on the latest developments in Georgian political structure.
Chakhvashvili said his country was determined to improve ties with its neighboring states.
