The Council of Ministers convened in a meeting chaired by President Dr Rouhani on Sunday, and expressed deep regret about the insult to the President in a live programme on the national media, the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), and the management's lack of response to the insults and defamations in a timely and appropriate manner, calling for a change in the approach of the national media towards the government. Members of the cabinet expressed their expectation for the national media to stand by the government and the system instead of spreading despair when the government is in a full-blown economic war with the enemy. During the meeting, a number of proposals of the executive bodies were reviewed and approved.
