The President thanked the Ministry of Education, teachers, principals and other people that paved the way for the reopening of schools at the beginning of the 1399-1400 academic year.
Speaking on Sunday evening in the cabinet meeting, Dr Hassan Rouhani received a report by the Minister of Education on the beginning of the academic year and said, "Education is just one of the functions of school, and virtual education is not a complete alternative to the school institution".
He said, "Training, fostering creativity, growing collective spirit, cooperation and socialisation, are other functions of the school, which caused us to try to activate the school institution by protecting the health of the children of Islamic Iran".
During the meeting, a number of proposals of the executive bodies were reviewed and approved by the Council of Ministers.
