President at the session of the National Task Force for Fighting Coronavirus:

Close ties between the three branches the only way forward/ Today we don’t need borrowing from central bank, but we need unity, cooperation, helping each other/ We should heed health protocols; there’s no second way

The President said that very close relations between the three branches is the only way to achieve success and overcome the country's problems, emphasising that there is no second way in this regard.

Speaking on Sunday at the session of the National Task Force for Fighting Coronavirus, President Hassan Rouhani said, "Today, despite the problems caused by sanctions and coronavirus, we do not need to borrow from outside and the central bank, but we need unity, cooperation and helping each other”.

Stating that the year 1399 is the most difficult year in the country in terms of economic pressure of the enemy and coronavirus, the President said, "It is a time of solidarity and victory, and with unity and cohesion, God will grant us victory”.

The President also stressed the importance of observing health protocols to fight coronavirus and that we have no second choice, adding, "From July 5, wearing masks in all public gatherings will be mandatory".

Dr Rouhani described the actions of all sectors in the country in fighting coronavirus unprecedented and pointed out that to date, no cure or vaccine for coronavirus has been found and that this situation may continue and we must prepare ourselves for long term, adding, "We must not let a peak happen in any province, and all people should help, because the sudden surge of the disease puts the country's medical jihadists under more pressure”.

Emphasising that "the risk of coronavirus spread in public gatherings is high", the President called for the care of the elderly and people with underlying conditions and said, "According to today's resolution of the National Task Force for Fighting Coronavirus, in any city that reaches red status, the provincial branch of the task force can propose a one-week restriction to the ministers of health and the interior for implementation with President’s approval”.

He referred to the topic of increasing rents and said that according to the resolution of the National Task Force for Fighting Coronavirus, from tomorrow, rents should not be more than 25 percent in Tehran, more than 20 percent in metropolitan areas and more than 15 percent in other cities compared to last year.

At the beginning of his speech, Dr Rouhani congratulated the Judiciary Week and said, "The year 1981 was a very difficult year for the people and very bitter incidents took place in that year. It was then that a very high-ranking figure of our country, martyr Ayatollah Beheshti, and 72 of his companions were martyred, and some others were wounded”.

Dr Rouhani said, "The incident was so important that our enemies and the anti-revolutionaries thought they could carry out the final strike on the system and said that the Islamic Consultative Assembly would no longer be in the majority and that conditions would not be ripe for elections to take place”.

The President said, "Imam Khomeini (RA) really changed the country on June 28 incident with all his might and then all people joined”.
