President Rouhani appointed Dr Reza Ardakanian as "Minister of Energy" based on Articles 187 and 133 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
President's letter of appointment reads:

Dear Dr Reza Ardakanian,
Based on Articles 187 and 133 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran and with regard to the vote of confidence of the Islamic Consultative Assembly dated October 29, 2017 you are being appointed as "Minister Energy" to employ all your talent and qualifications, and take advantage of qualified managers to advance the programmes of the 12th Administration and the priorities and missions announced by the President.
I wish you good luck in performing the legal duties and realising the goals of "freedom, security, peace and prosperity" by trust in the Almighty, coordination with the honourable Council of Ministers, and working in the path of moderation and full compliance with the "Codes of Ethics of the Administration of Prudence and Hope" and serving Islam and the great nation of Iran.
