The 12th Administration is determined to promote relations with friend countries, especially those in Africa, said President Rouhani in a meeting with the Speaker of the National Assembly of Tanzania, Job Ndugai.

In the meeting that was held on Sunday in Tehran, Dr Rouhani said: "The Islamic Republic of Iran is always ready to help and support the people of Tanzania and develop relations in various cultural and economic fields".

"Developing relations with African countries, including Tanzania and Zanzibar is very important to the Islamic Republic of Iran and this visit shows that there is political will by the two sides to do so," he added.

Iran never pays any attention to what powers that interfere with other countries affairs when it comes to developing ties with friend countries, said Rouhani adding: "Today, such interference policies are over and one cannot impose such demands on other nations".

In the same meeting, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Tanzania, Job Ndugai, also congratulated Dr Rouhani on his re-election and said: "Iranian people's considerable turnout in the elections indicates that Iran has a high level of democracy".

He also called for further development of ties and cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
