CBI General Assembly held with Dr Rouhani taking part

The 59th General Assembly of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) was held on Thursday with President Hassan Rouhani taking part.

On the sidelines of the cabinet session;

Dr Rouhani, cabinet members sign Ukrainian jetliner crash memorial

The President expressed his sympathy with the families of the victims of the tragic crash of the Ukrainian jetliner and wished them patience by signing the memorial book of the victims of the incident.

President at cabinet session:

We must preserve Gen. Soleimani's legacy; he was Iran’s border guard/ We’re all Iranians, Iran belongs to everyone; different tastes must be respected/ This land doesn’t belong to a certain taste, faction, opinion

Stating that the martyrdom of Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani and the loss of a number of citizens in Kerman and the plane crash has saddened the Iranian nation, the President said, "These incidents were very bitter for all of us, but we need to learn from them and use them as opportunities for our country’s benefit and national interests”.

President in a meeting with the Syrian PM:

Iran determined to deepen Tehran-Damascus ties/ Regional states mustn’t hesitate to end US’ military presence in region/ Iran always supports anti-imperialist peoples

Referring to the need for the two countries’ authorities to try to facilitate and accelerate the implementation of agreements and contracts, saying, "The Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to further deepen Tehran-Damascus relations in all fields of mutual interest”.

President at the Conference for Praising Top National Examples of Agriculture:

Gov’t considers itself responsible to meet all its legal duties/ Ukrainian jetliner case not normal; Judiciary should hold special hearing headed by a senior judge to investigate the issue/ Gov’t to continue efforts to investigate all aspects, punish those involved, ensure such things never happen

President appreciated the armed forces’ good cooperation in investigating the cause of the Ukrainian jetliner crash and said, "The government will continue its efforts until all aspects of the incident are investigated and to make sure that those involved are punished and assure people that such things will not happen again”.

President Hassan Rouhani visited the fair for the technological achievements and capabilities of Iran’s agriculture sector held on Tuesday at the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad.

President spoke with the Governor-General of Sistan and Baluchistan Mr Ahmad Ali Mohebati by telephone and received reports on the latest situation on ground.

President in a congratulatory message to new Sultan of Oman:

I hope Tehran-Muscat ties further deepen in all fields

President sent a message to the new Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq Al Said to offer him congratulations on his appointment and expressed hope that Tehran-Muscat ties would further deepen in all fields.

President in a meeting with the Pakistani FM:

We’re willing to have close ties with all regional countries/ We must all cooperate to ease tensions in region

President stressed that Iran is willing to have close relations with all regional countries, adding, "We believe that division in the Islamic community is not beneficial to anyone and we completely welcome Pakistan's efforts for promoting regional peace and stability in this regard".

President in a phone call with Swedish PM:

US’ military presence in region cause tensions, fury among nations/ We must all condemn US crime, killing in region/ We must respect other countries’ sovereignty, territorial integrity

President emphasised the need for everyone to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries, stressing that everyone should work for stability and security in the region.

President in a joint press conference with Emir of Qatar:

Iran to always stand by Qatar/ Important decisions made for deepening Tehran-Doha ties/ Joint Commission on Cooperation to be formed on yearly basis/ Consultation for regional security to continue

President called Iran and Qatar as two brothers, friends and neighbours in the region, and emphasised that due to the importance of regional security, especially the security of the waterways in the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf of Oman, the two countries will have more consultations and cooperation for the security of the entire region.
