President in a meeting with the new Britain’s Ambassador to Tehran:

JCPOA parties should live up to their commitments as Iran has/Tehran-London ties can accelerate using existing potentials

“Iran has lived up to all its commitments and the other side of the JCPOA agreement should do the same,” said President Rouhani in a meeting with the new Britain’s Ambassador to Tehran.

In the meeting that was held on Monday, Dr Rouhani also said: “The process of developing ties between the two countries has been progressing and this can be fostered by using existing potentials”.

Referring to London’s presence in nuclear negotiations, President Rouhani said: “All 7 countries attempted to reach an important agreement, which sends the important message to the world that disputes can be settled through diplomatic ways”.

“After the JCPOA, we need to compensate for the lost opportunities and that in turn requires that we fully establish economic, scientific, cultural and political ties, as well as banking relations,” Rouhani continued.

At the same meeting, the new Britain’s Ambassador to Tehran, Nicholas Hopton, presented his credentials to President Rouhani and said: “Today, we are witnessing a true progress in bilateral ties and British companies and banks are very much willing to cooperate with Iranian companies”.

He also said that central banks of the two countries would soon begin negotiations.

On regional issues, he said: “We hope to have more cooperation with Iran in regional issues”.
