Examining the results of the implementation of the smart bread and flour subsidy management scheme in different provinces across country/ Dr Raisi: The achievements of the smart bread subsidy management plan should be a model for allocating subsidies to other sectors

The President stated that the achievements of the smart bread and flour subsidy management scheme can be implemented as a model for allocating subsidies for other sectors in order to increase transparency, and stated, "The government is determined to optimise the subsidy system in the country with the aim of preventing the wastage of funds”.

In the meeting of the Cabinet’s Economic Coordination Board, which was held on Sunday night under the chairmanship of Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, the process and results of the implementation of the smart flour and bread subsidy management scheme (MAHYA) in different provinces were examined.
In this meeting, the report of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance on the achievements of the implementation of the smart flour and bread subsidy management scheme was presented and it was announced that so far 57% of the country's bakeries have been covered by this plan and this number is expected to reach 100% by early August.
Based on this report, preliminary estimates show that until now 40% of the flour subsidy worth 50 trillion Tomans was not given to the people in the form of bread and was wasted, but from now on and as a result of the implementation of this scheme it comes back to the people in real form and in the form of services.
In this meeting, the President once again emphasised the need to keep the price of bread stable throughout the country and said, "The purpose of implementing this scheme is to improve the infrastructure and payment methods for flour and bread subsidies, and the increase in the price of bread has not been discussed and will not be discussed in any way”.
Dr Raisi stated, "The achievements of the smart flour and bread subsidy management scheme can be implemented as a model for allocating subsidies for other sectors and for transparency”.
Ayatollah Raisi emphasised, "The government is determined to optimise and rationalise the subsidy system in the country with the aim of preventing the wastage of funds and this plan will be followed up”.
