Ayatollah Raisi: Iran determined to increase interactions with Turkmenistan at all levels/ Expansion of Tehran-Ashgabat bilateral cooperation a basis for promoting regional and international interactions between the two countries

The President described cooperation with the Caspian Sea countries as one of our foreign policy priorities and said, "We will try to expand bilateral cooperation between Tehran and Ashgabat as a basis for enhancing the level of regional and international cooperation between the two countries".

Speaking in a meeting with Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedow on Wednesday morning, Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi said, "I hope such trips will continue in order to expand relations between the two friendly, brotherly and neighbourly countries".
Wishing success to Berdimuhamedow in the implementation of Turkmenistan's three-year development plan, the President added, "The legal basis for the development and expansion of relations has been achieved by signing dozens of documents that will implement the provisions of these documents".
Dr Raisi suggested that a committee chaired by the heads of the joint commission of the two countries be formed to follow up on the decisions of this trip and report on the results of their work on a regular basis.
The President described the decision of the two countries to develop political, economic, trade and cultural relations and the expansion of interactions in the fields of energy, tourism, transit and transportation and said, "The Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to increase interactions and cooperation with Turkmenistan at all levels”.
Ayatollah Raisi described cooperation with the Caspian Sea countries as one of the foreign policy priorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran and welcomed the holding of the Caspian littoral states hosted by Turkmenistan and stated, "We will try to expand bilateral cooperation between Tehran and Ashgabat so that it can be a ground for the development of regional and international cooperation”.
"The two countries agree that a comprehensive government should be formed in Afghanistan that represents all political groups and ethnic groups," he said.
Dr Raisi also said, "The problems and issues of the region must be resolved in the region and the presence of outsiders in the region not only does not contribute to security, but also is problematic”.
The President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedow, said, "The energy and transport sectors are among the most important and strategic sectors of the two countries' relations, and we will try to use the capacity of these sectors effectively to expand bilateral interactions".
Berdimuhamedow also called the development of cultural relations a platform for strengthening ties between the two nations and added, "I am sure that the documents signed today between the officials of the two countries will further develop and strengthen relations between the two countries".
The President of Turkmenistan stated, "We want Afghanistan to have a prosperous government that participates in important international and regional projects".
