Iran determined to deepen ties with LatAm countries/ Emphasis on developing relations, political and economic cooperation with Brazil

President described relations between Iran and Brazil as good and long-standing, and said, "The Islamic Republic of Iran has always been determined to develop relations and cooperation with Latin American countries, including Brazil."

Speaking on Tuesday while receiving the letter of credence of the new Brazilian Ambassador to Tehran, Dr Hassan Rouhani referred to economic and trade relations, especially exchanges in the field of agriculture between the two countries, adding, "Taking advantage of all capacities for developing relations will benefit the two nations and countries".

Dr Rouhani stated that in recent years, despite the problems caused by US sanctions, we did not let relations between the two countries to face any problems, and expressed hope that during the term of the new Brazilian Ambassador to Tehran, we would see further development and strengthening of relations.

The new Brazilian Ambassador to Tehran presented his letter of credence to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and described Brazil's relations with Iran as good and sincere, and emphasised, "Despite illegal and unilateral US sanctions against Iran, the two countries have tried to maintain good relations".

He also stated that his main goal during his mission in Tehran was to try to develop and deepen relations between the two countries in all fields, adding, "Increasing the level of cooperation and relations between Iran and Brazil, as two important and influential countries in the Middle East and Latin America, is imperative".
