President in a meeting with Turkish parliament speaker:

Iran determined to deepen close ties with Turkey in all fields/Appreciating Turkish president, gov’t for stances against illegal US sanctions

President of the Islamic Republic of Iran stressed that, “The Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to deepen ties with Turkey as a friendly, brotherly country in all fields of mutual interest”.

Speaking in a meeting with the Speaker of Parliament of Turkey on Saturday, President Hassan Rouhani referred to the holding of the 2nd conference of parliament speakers of Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, China and Russia on the challenges of terrorism he said, “Iran considers Turkey’s security and stability as its own security and stability and therefore, took clear stances over the coup in Turkey”.

“Iran appreciates the efforts of the Turkish President and government for development of relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran,” he continued.

The President added, “Iran welcomes faster implementation of agreements between the two countries in different fields, such as energy and banking relations”.

Dr Rouhani continued, “In their latest meeting, Iran, Turkey and Russia decided to discuss economic cooperation in addition to security issues of the region”.

“Iran and Turkey have long been facing the scourge of terrorism and whenever they have boosted cooperation in fighting terrorism, their achievements have increased,” he added.

At the meeting, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Binali Yıldırım said, “Turkey will continue its relations with Iran in any conditions and the US sanctions against Iran is not fruitful”.

He also said, “The issue of terrorism has always been important for Turkey and is the common enemy of countries like Iran and Turkey and cooperation in fighting terrorism”.
