Part of practice code for establishment of system for standardization of information exchange approved/The need to provide a deadline for fixing problems before blocking websites

The Supreme Council of Cyberspace approved: If websites commit abuses or offenses that the judiciary has identified, it is necessary to deal with them or block them; in order to protect employment, they must be given the opportunity to resolve the problems that the judiciary has identified, and if the issues are not fixed, legal action will be taken.

At the meeting of the Supreme Council of Cyberspace that was held on Monday, chaired by President Hassan Rouhani, first a part of the code of practice on the identification of all inquiries and the establishment of a system for the standardization of information exchange was reviewed and approved by the members.

During the meeting, the issue of the blocking of 180 websites working in tourism, which was recently applied by the judiciary, was discussed and set out in order to safeguard employment.

Based on what was discussed, if the judiciary orders the blocking of websites that are related to business in the country and the people who work there, it will first consider the cases of violations and give an opportunity and deadline to them so that they can resolve their problems, and then the legal actions, including blocking them, will be applied.
