Tripartite Iran-Russia-Turkey summit on Syria beings

Presidents of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Turkey on the developments and future of Syria officially kicked off minutes ago in Tehran.

President Hassan Rouhani officially welcomed President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Turkey and the presidents posed for a photo.

The two previous summits of the presidents of the three countries were held November 22, 2017 in Sochi, Russia and April 4 of this year in Ankara, Turkey.

The tripartite summits are in fact complementary to the Astana Peace Process, 10 rounds of which have been held so far.

How to fight the terrorists and help the legitimate Syrian government, solutions to continuing humanitarian aid and how to end the Syrian crisis have been the main axes of the Astana talks and the summits of the three leaders of Iran, Russia and Turkey.
