Upon arrival at Kermanshah International Airport, Dr Hassan Rouhani was welcomed by Governor General Bazvand, Representative to the Supreme Leader in the province Ayatollah Ulama, and other senior local officials.

Visiting the areas hit by the recent earthquake, meeting with the people of these areas and evaluating the process of reconstruction in the quake-hit areas, opening the west railway project and attending the meeting of the Administrative Council of Kermanshah province are among the President's plans during his stay in Kermanshah.

The President is also set to celebrate the turn of the new year 1397 beside a group of quake-hit families in Kermanshah in his one-day visit.

Upon arrival at Kermanshah airport, Dr Rouhani told reporters: "I am glad that the destination of my last provincial visit in year 1396 is Kermanshah province. Of course, I had made a visit to this province earlier in the early days after the earthquake happened”.

“We are going to visit quake-hit areas and be briefed on the measures taken, and also instruct plans for the completion of these measures,” continued Rouhani.

Stating that meeting with the brave people of Kermanshah, who protect the borders of the country with such a courage, is always a great honour, Dr Rouhani said: “Today at the session of the Administrative Council of the province, plans that are going to be implemented in the course of development of the province in years 1397, 1398 and 1399 will be discussed”.

Referring to the opening of Kermanshah railway, the president added: "Kermanshah railway has been a long-term wish for the people of this province, with the opening of which we hope a good step towards the development of the province will be taken”.
