President arrives in India

President Rouhani arrived in Hyderabad, capital of India's Telangana state minutes ago at the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's official invitation.

In this visit that is taking place to deepen bilateral relations in response to the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's last year visit to Tehran, Dr Hassan Rouhani will first visit Hyderabad and then head for New Delhi.

Meeting with Muslim scholars of Hyderabad and southern India, visiting cultural and religious centres, as well as meeting with Iranian students are among President's most important programmes.

The official invitation ceremony will be held by the President and Prime Minister of the Republic of India on Saturday in New Delhi and the high-ranking delegations of Iran and India will meet and sign several memoranda of understanding.

Dr Rouhani will leave New Delhi for Tehran late on Saturday.
