Ahmadinejad made the remarks in the opening ceremony of the first national conference on "Communication and Public Relations Departments" in Tehran. Sincere relations between people and the government is among skills of the public relations departments, pointed out the president. It is the duty of public relations departments to win trust of people who wish to play a significant role in construction of the country, he said. "We are to build a society based on administration of justice and moving forward to attain development where the role of people is vital to this end," he said. People should have an active presence in all scenes, he said adding that the role of public relations departments could be defined as winning trust of people, formulating plans and proper supervision over effective role of people. "If the public relations departments were able to accomplish their grave task, the grounds for spread of fabricated news or analysis would be reduced," he said. True criticism of government performance would lead to improvement of duties and tasks shouldered by the state officials, he said. Highlighting the significant role of public relations departments among nations and governments, he said if human beings are deprived of communications, they would turn into solid objects, he said. He praised the brilliant performance of telecommunication sector and their great achievements mainly in the past one and a half years. "This is a source of honor," he noted.
