He made the remarks on Tuesday in a ceremony to launch two major national projects, the national computation grid and the national culture network.
Dr.Ahmadinejad referred to the two projects launched described them as necessary since they bring about constructive results.
He said the national culture network provides unlimited opportunity in the cyberspace for relations among all humans. “It is also a good venue for presenting the precious components of the Iranian nation’s culture. This network can mobilize all national potentials behind the Iranian-Islamic culture.”
On the national calculation grid, the president said when the idea of creating such a grid was raised; many believed it would be impossible to implement it in Iran. “But today, the computation section of the grid has been launched and its other sections will be available to researchers soon.”
Noting that the grid provides broad opportunity for new and innovative scientific works, he stressed that it should turn into a national information network.
Dr.Ahmadinejad added that the nation, with its rich culture, lofty beliefs and historical background, deserves to be the standard-bearer of human society’s progress.
He praised the Iranian nation for always being a forerunner in culture building and safeguarding its culture, adding that culture-building and civilization-building have been the distinguishing characteristics of the Iranian nation.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has much to say in the field of culture, the president further stated.
Highlighting the scientific progress in recent years, he said, “Fortunately, the Islamic Republic of Iran has enjoyed the highest rate of scientific growth.”
