President in a meeting with S. Korean National Assembly speaker:

12th Administration backs deepening Iran-S.Korea ties/Opportunities available for cooperating in Iran’s projects

The signing of 50 cooperation documents between the officials of both countries during the former South Korean president’s visit to Iran is a positive development in promoting ties, said President Rouhani in a meeting with the Speaker of the National Assembly of South Korea, Chung Sye-kyun.

In the meeting that was held on Saturday in Tehran, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran referred to potentials in Iran, including in sectors such as energy, oil, gas and petrochemicals and said: “South Korean investors and private sector can cooperate in these projects”.

Stressing the importance of stability and security in Asia, especially in East Asian region, Dr Rouhani added: “We believe that in today’s world, all countries can resolve their disagreements through dialogue and political ways”.

“the Islamic Republic of Iran will spare no effort in development and strengthening of security and stability in Asia,” continued the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

President Rouhani also said: “We are willing to develop relations between the two countries in various fields, modern technologies, industrial cooperation, transportation and cooperation in various projects such as railways”.

Developing banking relations is a solid base for deepening economic relations, said Rouhani adding: “Today, we are witnessing good progress in banking relations between the two countries and the two sides should work hard to finalise it”.

Congratulating Dr Rouhani on his re-election, the Speaker of the National Assembly of South Korea, Chung Sye-kyun also described President Rouhani’s role in international stages very prominent, adding: “Surely, this path will continue with your re-election as the President of Iran”.

He also said: “South Korea’s national assembly backs developing Tehran-Seoul relations” adding that banking relations will start to develop soon.

“We believe that security and peace and resolving disputes are only possible through dialogue,” said Chung.
