“Topics of monotheism, prophecy, imamate and divine justice are not topics that we need anyone to vote for, these are scientific, theoretical, rational, and reasoning issues,” continued the President.

Stressing that the Islamic Republic is based on voting and that Imam Khomeini (RA) pondered about the name of the political system, Dr Rouhani added: “This is the base of our system. Imam Khomeini puts the system and its conditions to vote”.

“The clergy has had the responsibility to satisfy people in addition to inviting them. They have been responsible to satisfy them with the basics of religion and explain God’s laws for them,” he continued.

The President also added: “National issues are non-partisan and not factional, but rather belong to all people. National interest, national security, national interests, constitution, Supreme Leader, and even the administration are non-partisan”.

When it comes to issues related to national security, there is no talk of faction and party, said Rouhani adding: “If we decide to hit a place with missiles, this decision is related to our national security”.

“What the Army of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution (IRGC) did in preparing missiles and launching them towards points where the ISIS heads were in Deirazor, is not a decision made by an individual or a military organ, but such decisions are made in the Supreme Council of National Security, whereas the council had authorised the armed forces to do more than the recent action to respond to the terrorists after the attacks in Tehran,” continued Rouhani.

He also said that the action by the IRGC was completely correct, in-time and essential adding: “The policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran towards regional and global issues had not changed but if they send groups or people from a centre to present themselves to our enemies in the region and attempt to harm the greatness of the Islamic Republic of Iran, they will definitely receive a serious response”.

Terrorists could not achieve what they wanted in their attacks to the Majlis and Imam Khomeini’s tomb, the President added, saying: “The Islamic Republic of Iran, will definitely respond to such acts and if, God forbid, there is another incident, the perpetrators will face a more serious response from the Islamic Republic of Iran”.

“As the Supreme Leader said, those who think that they can slap Iran, must know that the Islamic Republic of Iran will slap them because this is our path and it has not changed and we will respond to those who want to betray our people and country,” he continued.

He also said: “The Islamic Republic of Iran will continue its way with more dignity and greatness and we will keep our unity and integrity”.
