At the meeting that took place on Tuesday in Tehran, Dr Rouhani continued: "The potentials and opportunities for developing Iran-Mexico relations must be identified in order to pave the way for cementing and deepening relations between the two countries' private sectors".

On the close approaches by the two countries to global developments, Dr Rouhani added: "We believe that the world powers' intervention in other countries' internal affairs must be stopped and independent countries should try to establish close ties with each other and have a single voice in the global stage".

"From the viewpoint of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the solution to international issues is dialogue, and political consultation," the President added, saying that Iran and Mexico have close viewpoints in this regard.

At the meeting, the new Ambassador of Mexico to Tehran, José Alfonso Zegbe Camarena also presented his letter of credence to President Rouhani and said: "Relations between the governments and parliaments of the two countries are at a high level and there is also good cultural cooperation between the two sides".
