Iran's steel, auto industry to join global market/Developing tourism essential for employment

President Rouhani chaired the cabinet session on Wednesday and said that Iran's steel and auto industry are going to join the global market.

He said: "In addition to great steps that have been taken in boosting agricultural, oil and gas production, as well as attracting investment and exporting domestic products, joining the global market will also boost".

"In addition to Iran's active role in the petrochemicals market, we are about to join the global market in the field of steel and auto industry," the President added.

Dr Rouhani also said: "Positive non-oil trade balance in the past two years, reducing inflation rate to single digit figures, reducing import and improving its composition are among the important achievements that must continue to happen in the current year".

He also stressed that the tourism industry must expand to help the country develop and increase employment rate.

The Council of Ministers also reviewed reports and discussed issues related to import and export, as well as trade.

They also made decisions about reducing air pollution in metropolises and authorised the Ministry of Interior to negotiate, initialise and temporarily sign security agreements between the two administrations of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
