At the meeting with Foreign Minister Delcy Rodriguez and Petroleum Minister Nelson Pablo Martínez, President Rouhani said: "Tehran is willing to deepen ties with Latin American countries, especially Venezuela in political, economic and cultural fields".

Stating that the United States' consensus-building power has shrunk more than ever, he underscored that the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) should have a role and continued: "All members of the NAM should join hands for the organisation to play a more active role in regional and international issues".

Referring to Iran and Venezuela's common views in most international issues, he also said: "Independence and resistance against countries that are following unilateral approaches in the world is one of the key principles of Iran and Venezuela's foreign policy as two independent countries".

"The current conditions of the world requires that independent countries, especially the non-aligned ones, to rely on their own nation and act more unitedly against unilateralism, extremism and violence," he also said.

Dr Rouhani also mentioned the successful step taken by oil-producing countries in Algeria meeting, adding: "All oil-producing countries, be they member or non-members of the OPEC, must attempt to rise oil prices to a stable and fair point for the producers and consumers".

At the meeting, the Foreign Minister of Venezuela conveyed the Venezuelan President's written message to President Rouhani and said that Caracas was determined to deepen its ties with Tehran in all fields.

She also referred to Algeria meeting and said: "All oil-producing countries should implement the Algeria agreement for a more balanced market and stabilised oil prices".
