Returning from official visit to Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan;

President arrives in Tehran

President of the Islamic Republic of Iran arrived in Tehran after a brief visit to three countries of Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan and was welcomed by First Vice-President, Dr Jahangiri, and International Affairs Adviser to the Supreme Leader, Dr Velayati, as well as a number of ministers.

In the first leg of his visit to Central Asia and Caucasus, Dr Rouhani met with the President and the Prime Minister of Armenia, attended the meeting of high-ranking delegations of Iran and Armenia, as well as the Iranian-Armenian business forum.

The Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Armenia also signed five cooperation documents and memoranda of understanding.

He then left Yerevan for Kazakhstan on Wednesday as the second leg of his tour at the official invitation by his Kazakh counterpart.

During his visit to Kazakhstan, Dr Rouhani met with President Nursultan Nazarbayev and attended the meeting of high-ranking delegations of Iran and Kazakhstan.

In addition, high-ranking officials of Iran and Kazakhstan signed five cooperation documents in the presence of both presidents.

President Rouhani left Astana for Kyrgyzstan’s capital, Bishkek on Thursday as the third and last leg of his Central Asian tour.

During his stay, President Rouhani met with the President of Kyrgyzstan and attended the meeting of high-ranking delegations of Iran and Kyrgyzstan.

Iran and Kyrgyzstan signed five agreements and memoranda of understanding. A 10-year cooperation document was also signed between the two countries.

The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran also met with the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan late on Friday before leaving for Tehran.
