Speaking to reporters on Friday in Bishkek, Dr Rouhani said: “President Atambayev’s last visit to Tehran has been a turning point in the two countries’ relations and today as well, important steps have been taken in bilateral ties”.

“Kyrgyzstan government’s independent policy at global level is very important for us. We greatly respect this independent policy, as well as moderation and anti-extremism culture of this country,” added Rouhani.

He went on to say: “Today at the private meeting and the meeting of high-ranking delegations of the two countries, we gave specific attention to developing economic ties”.

Dr Rouhani continued: “Both countries consider removing visa requirement as a basic policy in relations between the two countries”.

He also said: “Removing visa requirement can facilitate tourists, businesspeople and entrepreneurs’ travel between the two countries and act as a ground for establishing direct flight between the two countries”.

On banking relations, he said: “Without easy transfer in banking securities, in cases that need banking credits and LC, these kinds of economic activities will not be possible and we hope this visit contributes to developing and facilitating banking relations”.

“As the President of Kyrgyzstan also stressed, we eagerly welcome linking China and Kyrgyzstan through railway, passing through Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Iran to Oman Sea, the Persian Gulf and Indian Ocean,” President Rouhani continued.
