Iran, Azerbaijan Rep. to cooperate on preventing emergency situations consequences/President: Railway development a key priority for gov't/Stressing railway development, environment protection, people's health/Dr Mohammadzadeh appointed as railway CEO

The Council of Ministers approved the agreement between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan on cooperation in preventing and decreasing emergency situations consequences.

The cabinet gave vote of confidence to Dr Saeid Mohammadzadeh as the new CEO of Islamic Republic of Iran Railways.

In the session that was held on Sunday, Dr Rouhani congratulated Dr Mohammadzadeh on his appointment and expressed hope that the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways be developed significantly during his term.

He also deemed railway development and its connection to mining and industrial centres necessary for protecting the environment and people's health.

"One of the most important priorities of this government is to develop railways and it has been stipulated in year1396's budget bill," the President added.

Later at the session, the Minister or Petroleum briefed the Council of Ministers on the latest OPEC meeting and Iran's stances in it.

Also, the Minister of Agricultural Jihad also gave a report on snowfall and extreme cold in Mazandaran province and the amount of damage inflicted on crops.

The cabinet also discussed and approved a number of recommendations made by the special workgroup on the Bill of Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Council of Minister also approved "Comprehensive Plan of Increasing Literacy, Knowledge and Skills in Nomadic Areas", as well as the "Special Plan of Providing Nomadic Society with Cultural and Religious Services".
