In the meeting that was held one Saturday in Tehran, Dr Rouhani stressed that OPEC members and non-members should cooperate in doing so.
“Development of ties with Latin American countries, including Venezuela has always been important to us and, fortunately, the cooperation has been developing in recent years,” added Rouhani.
Referring to terrorism in the region and the need for all countries throughout the world to cooperate, he said: “Terrorism is a global issue and all countries should unite to fight the issue”.
“Using terrorism as a tool by some powers will eventually be detrimental to them,” he continued.
In the same meeting, the President of Venezuela said that his country was determined to deepen ties with Tehran in all fields, adding: “To stabilise the price of oil, new mechanisms should be taken and consultation among oil-producing countries, be they members or non-members of the OPEC should increase”.
President Maduro referred to the coming OPEC meeting in Vienna and added: “Oil-producing countries should develop cooperation spirit and seek a fair agreement in order to stabilise oil prices”.
He also referred to agreements made between the two countries in the fields of economy, politics, and culture, and added that the Venezuelan government is determined to put the agreements into action
