Tapping ample cooperation opportunities beneficial to both nations, entire region/Two gov’ts determined to develop amicable ties

“Taking advantage of ample opportunities for cooperation between the two countries is beneficial to both nations and the entire region,” said President Rouhani in a meeting with the President of Slovenia Borut Pahor.

“Today after the JCPOA, there is a better opportunity for development of amicable ties between the two countries and we should take advantage of this opportunity to deepen political, economic and cultural relations to the advantage of the two nations and other nations in the region,” said President in the meeting that was held on Wednesday local time on the sidelines of the 71st UN General Assembly in New York.

He also stressed development of banking relations and said: “Without a doubt, development of economic relations depends of close banking relations between the two countries”.

Referring to Iran’s excellent geographical location, Dr Rouhani said: “Iran is the path that connects East Europe and Mediterranean to Indian Ocean”.

Dr Rouhani welcomed reopening of Slovenia’s embassy in Tehran and said: “This move by Slovenia can be very effective in development of ties between the two governments and facilitate investors’ activities”.

“Private companies of Iran and Slovenia should become acquainted with each other’s capabilities and facilities”.

He continued: “We believe that complications and issues of the region only have political solutions and need public cooperation. The two countries can cooperate and consult in significant regional issues such as combating terrorism and”.

President of Slovenia Borut Pahor said: “Opening our embassy in Tehran is the symbol of our resolve for development of ties”.

He also invited Dr Rouhani to officially visit Slovenia.
