Iran-Algeria ties should deepen in all fields/Algerian President’s message to Dr Rouhani

Tehran-Algeria ties is friendly and close and the two countries enjoy very close viewpoints regarding regional and international issues, said President Rouhani in a meeting with the Foreign Minister of Algeria on Saturday.

In the meeting that was held on the sidelines of the 17th NAM Summit in Margarita Island, Venezuela, Dr Rouhani said: “Iran and Algeria have always stood by each other in hard times and today, especially after lift of unjust sanctions, time is ripe for accelerating development of ties, especially in economic fields”.

Referring to the complexity of regional issues, he said: “Without a doubt, considering the current conditions of the region, consultation and close cooperation can significantly contribute to resolving issues”.

On the upcoming OPEC meeting, which is going to be held in Algeria, and stressing the need for stabilising the oil market, Rouhani said: “I hope effective steps will be taken in favour of collective interest by close cooperation and interaction”.

Special envoy of the President of Algeria, Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra also delivered Algerian President’s message of greetings to Dr Rouhani and said: “Ties between the two countries are based on independence and we are determined to further develop our brotherly ties with Tehran”.

“Tehran and Algeria are firmly determined to deepen and develop ties and cooperation to the benefit of the two nations and the nations of the world and Algeria can be a gateway for Iran’s presence in the African market,” continued Algerian Foreign Minister.
