“Ground is ready to further develop Tehran-Ankara ties in all fields,” said President Rouhani in a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Congratulating Eid Al-Fitr to President Erdoğan, Dr Rouhani said: “Iran and Turkey should join hands in resolving regional issues, especially in fight against terrorism, regarding ample commonalities”.

He also stressed the need to accelerate implementing agreements as an important step in developing ties between the two countries.

Expressing condolence over the latest terrorist attack in Istanbul airport, President Rouhani said: “We need closer cooperation between the two countries in fighting terrorism and I have no doubt that if the two countries act more seriously against this evil phenomenon, we will be able to root out terrorism in the region”.

Dr Rouhani said that terrorism is an issue and threat to all countries throughout the world and added: “Fighting against this global phenomenon requires collective resolve by all countries”.

In this telephone conversation, President Erdoğan also congratulated Eid Al-Fitr to Dr Rouhani and said: “Turkey welcomes developing and deepening joint cooperation between Tehran and Ankara”.

“We can eradicate terrorism with each other’s help,” continued Turkish President.
