President while receiving new Slovakian ambassador to Tehran’s credentials:

Iran willing to develop ties with EU, esp. Slovakia/Stressing further boost of ties between Iran, Slovakia chambers of commerce

The Islamic Republic of Iran is willing to develop its relations with the European Union, especially Slovakia, said President while he was receiving the new Slovakian ambassador to Tehran’s letter of credence.

During the meeting that took place on Tuesday, Dr Rouhani said: “Iran-EU ties is being revitalised and groundwork is set for mutual cooperation in all economic, political, scientific and cultural fields”.

Mentioning Slovakia’s presidency of the Council of European Union in the near future, Dr Rouhani said: “Bratislava’s presidency of the council can be a window for acceleration of cooperation between Iran and the European Union”.

He also referred to Iran’s extensive capabilities and facilities and said: “The two countries’ ties in all field, including economic relations should be further developed and, without a doubt, cementing banking ties between Iran and Slovakia accelerates this cooperation”.

On the need for mutual cooperation between the private sectors of Iran and Slovakia, he said: “Cementing ties between the chambers of commerce of both countries and forming a ‘Joint Chamber of Commerce’ can play a significant role in elevating the level of Tehran-Bratislava economic and trade cooperation”.

During the same meeting, the new Slovakian ambassador to Tehran said: “Slovakia is trying to establish strong ties with Tehran is all fields, especially the in the fields of political and economic issues”.
