President welcomes development of Tehran-Baku ties in all fields of mutual interest

President Hassan Rouhani in a telephone conversation Saturday afternoon with Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan welcomed and underlined Tehran- Baku relations in all fields of mutual interests.

"As the ties are gradually moving toward a strategic ones, so a rapid implementation of the past agreements can future boost them at all levels of bilateral and mutual, as well", he added.

Referring to Aliyev's recent visit to Tehran, Rouhani expressed hope that boosting the bilateral ties would also further lay the base for trilateral ties between Iran, Azerbaijan and Russia, especially in the fields of transit, energy and trade.

Rouhani appreciated his counterpart for giving the ring and wished prosperity for the state and nation of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan also in his turn appreciated Iranian state and nation for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to Azeri high ranking delegation during his visit to Tehran and said:" Implementation of the agreements signed in Tehran can be a new chapter in the two countries relations".

Referring to establishing a rail road connection between Iran, Azerbaijan and Russia in the framework of a north-south corridor, he called for a rapid execution of the plan and assured that Azerbaijan will do its best to rapidly make the plan operational.

Aliyev also wished success and prosperity for Iranian state and nation.
