President in a telephone conversation with Georgian PM:

JCPOA a diplomacy victory in int’l issues/Georgia can be a corridor for Iran’s transactions with Black Sea region/Stressing operationalization of joint economic committee

President Rouhani had a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Georgia and expressed Iran’s willingness to deepen Tehran-Tbilisi ties and said: “Economic and cultural cooperation between Iran and Georgia should be strengthened to the benefit of the two nations”.

In this telephone conversation which happened late on Monday, President Rouhani told Giorgi Kvirikashvili: “Victory of nuclear negotiations and its results was an international victory for diplomacy”.

Referring to the operationalization of a joint economic committee, Rouhani added: “There are a lot of capacities for cooperation and the operationalization of agreements by the joint economic committee of Iran and Georgia, including abolition of visas can develop the level of cooperation”.

He also mentioned that Georgia can be a corridor for Iran’s transactions with Black Sea region and said: “Geographical location and extensive common facilities have prepared a favourable ground for multilateral cooperation”.

In this telephone conversation, the Prime Minister Kvirikashvili congratulated President Rouhani on official implementation of JCPOA and lift of sanctions and said: “JCPOA implementation is in line with not only Iran’s interests, but also the whole region and the world, including Georgia”.

He added: “I assure you that we are ready to start a new chapter in relations. Georgia is ready to develop ties with Iran in all fields, especially economy”.

Georgian PM also said that he is going to visit Iran in the near future and invited Dr Rouhani to have an official trip to Tiblisi.
