President: Iran-Armenia amicable ties as 2 Muslim-Christian nations a symbol, model in the world/We seek more relations with Armenia

In this telephone conversation which was held on Sunday between President Hassan Rouhani and Serzh Sargsyan, Dr Rouhani said: “Amicable ties between Iran and Armenia as two Muslim and Christian nations is a symbol and model in the world, especially by considering that these ties have been developing so far”.

 Stating that Iran is willing to develop bilateral ties, Rouhani added: “The Islamic Republic of Iran and Armenia should use all capacities to develop relations”, adding that Joint Economic Committee of both countries should be executed and implemented.

He also referred to the post-JCPOA era and the clearer path towards development of economic ties between the two countries and said: “Both countries should use all their capacities to connect the Persian Gulf to the Black Sea”.

In this telephone conversation, President Sargsyan congratulated the official implementation of JCPOA to the Iranian nation and government on behalf of his country’s nation and government and said: “Without a doubt, the implementation of JCPOA is fruitful and effective not only for bilateral ties, by also for the region as well”.

He continued: “Armenia seeks development of cooperation with Iran in all areas of interest and this cooperation should gain more momentum in the new era”.

On the recent summit on Joint Economic Committee of both countries, he also said: “In the Joint Economic Committee of both countries which was held in Armenia, extensive programs for development of joint cooperation were presented that should be accelerated”.
