In a telephone conversation with his Afghan counterpart;

President describes JCPOA as vital to all countries of the region

President Hassan Rouhani in a telephone conversation on Monday with President of Afghanistan Dr Ashraf Ghani described the implementation day of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) as an important and happy day for all countries in the region.

During the conversation which was initiated from the Afghan part, President Rouhani also described Afghanistan as a friend and brother state and appreciated for extending his congratulations to Iranian state and nation over the day.

Dr Rouhani said: "Iranian state and nation have always stood by Afghan nation and today, the post-JCPOA atmosphere is the best time for strengthening the bilateral and multilateral ties in the region more than before.

Referring to the new developments after the JCPOA and the removal of all obstacles to improve cooperation, he reiterated that Tehran eyes developing ties with neighboring nations, therefore Afghan nation for the ample commonalities existing between the two countries, enjoys favorite position in Iranian foreign policies.

Mentioning the cooperation agreement between Iran and Afghanistan and the need to accelerate it, Dr Rouhani said: "The development of bilateral cooperation paves the way for multilateral cooperation and the two countries will be able to develop their regional trilateral and multilateral cooperation as well".

President also congratulated Afghan government on its victories over the terrorist groups and fighting terrorism and said: "There is no doubt that the people and government of Afghanistan will be the final victors in the fight against terrorism".

"The Islamic Republic of Iran has always wished a stable and secure Afghanistan, therefore it will spare all efforts to reinforce stability and peace in friendly and brotherly Afghanistan", Rouhani added.

Afghanistan President, on his part, congratulated Iranian state and nation for the implementation of the JCPOA and said: "Afghanistan is seeking to expand ties and cooperation with Iran in all fields of interests".

Dr. Ashraf Ghani promised to implement the two countries agreements as soon as possible and added: "Although we are determined to strengthen our bilateral and multilateral cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran, the government now is focusing on the implementation of JCPOA".

Afghan President made some hints to his countries struggle to fight terrorists, particularly ISIS and called for further cooperation with Iran in the fight against terrorists.
