In a meeting with the new Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Tehran;

President: Terrorism and radicalism, common threats to all regional countries

President Hassan Rouhani in a meeting on Tuesday with the new Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Tehran Bahador Abdollahev referred to the deep historical relations between the two states and nations of Iran and Uzbekistan and  underlined Tehran’s willingness to develop ties with Tashkent esp. in order to tackle regional crisis.

"Iran and Uzbekistan can cooperate both in the economic fields and also start a new effective cooperation and collaboration to tackle the terrorism and radicalism which is going to be a common threats to all regional countries", he added.

Rouhani described his last meeting with Uzbekistan President Islam Karimev on the sidelines of Shanghai summit meeting on Monday as positive and said: "As the two countries relation have already been laid on cultural commonalities, thus it is necessary to consolidate it in the economic filed, as well".

The Republic of Uzbekistan’s new ambassador to Tehran after presenting his credentials, on his part referred to Uzbekistan's leadership's indication on the further expanding and strengthening of Tashkent's diplomatic ties with Tehran, and said: "Tashkent's main priority is to expand a multilateral ties with Tehran and still insists on it because of Iran's growing effective role in the region.

Abdollahev expressed hope the next Joint Economic Commission would cover all demands for the further expansion of the multilateral ties between the two countries.
