In a meeting with the new Danish ambassador to Tehran;

President: Tehran welcomes developing ties with Copenhagen

President Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday met with the new ambassador of Denmark to Tehran and stressed Tehran’s willingness to develop ties with Copenhagen, especially regarding investors and the private sector.

Iran and Denmark have always had good and historical relations and there has been no negative points in the history of these relations, said President Rouhani early on Tuesday in a meeting with Danny Annan the new Danish ambassador to Tehran.

He continued: “We hope to have the necessary grounds for developing and expanding ties in all areas, especially in sectors such as economy, trade, and culture and for enforcing more interaction between the people of the two countries”.

President also mentioned the good business environment and educated human resources in Iran and said: “Today, Iran is in the centre of a vast market in the region which can be used for expanding trade ties and creating investment opportunities between the two countries”.

On the necessity of closer relations between the two countries’ investors and private sectors, Dr Rouhani expressed hope that in the new era the ties between Tehran and Copenhagen be deepened.

In this meeting, Annan presented his credentials to the President and described the Iran-Denmark relations as being historical and said: “Danish authorities are determined to strengthen Tehran-Copenhagen ties in all areas”.

He also said that Danish companies and corporations are eager to invest in Iran. He added: “Today, a lot of opportunities exist in the relations between different sectors of trade and investment of the two countries towards mutual interests and we can use them to expand ties”.
