Rouhani: Executive branch expects parliament not to vote for impeachment of the Minister of Roads and Urban Development / The bill of financing counter terrorism with a single urgency goes to parliament

Expressing respect for the legal rights of Parliament, President described Abbas Ahmad Akhoondi, Minister of Roads and Urban Development as a hardworking and program-based member of the cabinet's program, particularly for his post- JCPOA endeavors to do good-preparations to invite foreign investors to participate in major transportation projects.

Rouhani in a cabinet meeting in Sunday afternoon said: Akhoondi has played an active role in his legal responsibilities, and in the discussions and decisions of the government, therefore, his efforts for the development of roads, rail ways, aviation system, ports and the housing which are of the government's top priorities, are worthwhile and appreciated.

President said that impeachment should be turned into an opportunity to explain the actions of the ministry, in order to brief MPs and community with the appreciated services of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development done under severe restrictions.

"As a result of the nuclear deal and new priority for further attraction and invitation of wide range of foreign investors, it will be appropriate to enjoy the Minister's services for the benefit of the people and country, therefore, government expects MPs not to vote to impeach the Minister of Roads and Urban Development.

The cabinet reviewed the judiciary branch's proposed bill of financing counter terrorism and approved it with a single urgency to be presented to the Islamic consultative Assembly.

The meeting also approved the government support of the guidelines for exporters to export technical and engineering services to Iraq.  According to the guidelines, government provide the exporters of the said services with foreign exchange facilities for about two hundred million dollars in the form of credit underwritten by the Export Guarantee Fund of Iran, based on the previously approved terms and conditions.
