In this meeting, President Hassan Rouhani said: “Iran is ready to fulfil its commitments in JCPOA and the other side should also make efforts on implementing it”. He also said that while Iran is busy implementing the JCPOA, the other side should work on the mechanism in order to remove all sanctions, including economic and national ones.

On the Tehran-London relations, Rouhani said: “Reopening the two embassies will be an appropriate start in creating dynamism and expansion of bilateral relations”.

There is a need to understand the real reasons of terrorism and insecurity being spread in the region and propose a solution for that, Rouhani said, adding: “If we do not uproot terrorism, even if we succeed in fighting it in one region, it can immediately emerge from another region”.

The President also said: “How come terrorists can extract and sell oil in Iraq and Syria and receive its money and use it to intensify their actions, but do not face the very sanctions that some countries are suffering from?” This overt action of terrorist groups in Syria and Iraq raise the doubt that whether the countries which claim they are fighting terrorism, are serious in doing so, added Rouhani.

David Cameron, speaking on his country’s willingness to fulfil its commitments made in JCPOA, expressed hope that the UK is sure that the other side will take the same course of action.

He then continued on Tehran-London ties and said: “We hope that we have shown our good will with helping JCPOA to finalize, sending our foreign minister to Tehran, reopening our embassy in Tehran, and sending trade delegations to Tehran”.

On terrorist groups in Syria, Prime Minister Cameron said: “The first and the most important thing for us is the savage motivation of ISIL. Its philosophy is spreading violence and extremism and we have even witnessed its first moves on the streets of London.
