"Iran was seeking to demonstrate the enrichment of law and now the United Nations Security Council recognizes the right to the enrichment of our country," said President Rouhani on Wednesday at the cabinet session.
Despite some restrictions to be imposed on Iran because of the nuclear deal for a certain period of time, he said, experts share the view that it will not affect the progress and advancement of nuclear technology in the country.
He added: "Iran is not seeking to produce weapons of mass destruction and calls it unethical and the fatwa of the Supreme Leader."
He said it was ridiculous to hear some say that the nuclear deal will stop Iran from getting a nuclear bomb in less than a year because Iran has never been seeking a mass killing weapon for the reason that it simply is against a religious decree issued by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
Now, the UNSC has admitted in legal terms that sanctions will not affect Iran so they should be stopped, the president added.
Stressing that the UN Security Council lifted all sanctions, the president said that they agreed that the sanctions have led to nothing.
Referring to the withdrawal of the Iranian nuclear issue of the seventh chapter of the UN Charter and the Security Council, he reiterated that "They issued a resolution that it no longer considers the peaceful activities of Iran as a global threat. This is a great victory.”
"This national victory belongs to the Iranian people and it was due to the resistance of the people and supporters of the Supreme Leader, the Government and the three powers," he said, adding: "We are proud to the negotiating team who did a great job in the legal, political, technical and economic.
The Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Iran urged people to have more hope in their affairs, even those who believe in the power in the military and defense areas.
"Without a doubt, approaches to Iran will be strengthened in the region and this phenomenon will not be at the expense of neighboring countries," he concluded.
