President Hassan Rouhani made the remarks in today’s cabinet meeting.
While expressing hope to see a logical attitude from the 5+1 negotiators based on foresight and considering the interests of all nations and regional stability, Dr.Rouhani asserted, “the only one who is angry and upset about the course of negotiations is an occupying regime that sees its survival in war and invasion.”
President has said the country would accept transparency in the negotiations but will never yield to any deal that would try to deter Iran’s scientific progress.
Dr.Rouhani said: “People in the world, as well as the Americans, are much more conscious than to trust the words of advice from a regime that has a long reputation for causing conflict and crisis.
He continued, “The very same regime that has sought nuclear weapons contrary to international law and away from international observers; which has produced atomic bombs and by refusing to sign the NPT will not allow the IAEI to visit its nuclear facilities.”
President Rouhani stressed that the Islamic Republic has always sought a plan for a Middle East free from any nuclear weapons in the United Nations.
The President noted the 5+1 knew perfectly well that there were only two options ahead in the course of negotiations, adding “they must either reach an agreement with Iran within the framework of logic and the international law and the sooner they do it, it’ll benefit everyone involved. Or else they will have to deny the facts and continue with their sanctions regime, in which scenario they will have to witness the faster progress of Iran’s peaceful nuclear program.”
