President in a meeting with Norwegian new ambassador:

Need for using opportunity and potentials for expansion of Tehran- Oslo ties

President pointing to the longstanding ties between Iran and Norway said that there is great potential for the expansion of ties in bilateral and international fields.

President Rouhani made the remarks in a meeting with Norwegian new ambassador, here in Tehran on Monday.
The president reiterated that the Islamic Republic of Iran has great determination to bolster its ties with the Norway.
President Rouhani pointed to the cooperation between two countries in regional and international issues and said that two countries can help to resolve important issues including fight against extremism and terrorism and other international issues.
On the nuclear issue, the president said: “with a serious political will on both sides of the negotiation, a final win-win agreement is possible to be reached in the remaining time.”
He noted that Iran's peaceful nuclear activities are under IAEA supervision and that the Islamic Republic of Iran will not give up its right for peaceful use of nuclear energy.
Reaching a final nuclear deal can promote Iran's relations with the European states including Norway, the President added.
Presenting his credentials to President Rouhani, Norwegian Ambassador to Tehran Odyssey Norheim, for his part, stressed the role and status of Iran in the region.
She added that Norway is committed to increase consultations to resolve regional issues and to achieve stability in the region.
Norway will continue talks with Iran as an important regional player to resolve the regional crises, she added.
She referred to the Norway foreign minister's upcoming visit to Iran and said that Norway recognizes Iran's right for peaceful use of nuclear energy.
