President Rouhani made the remarks in an exclusive interview with the NBC News Network correspondent Ann Curry in Tehran.
President said that today should respect public opinion of nations and governments.
President said: “One year has passed since the time that I in fact spoke with the world in the United Nations General Assembly and I also said that the big problems is violence the big problem is extremism and we need to have a world free from violence and extremism, and I think that what was said last year in the United Nations today we can see it with more transparency in our region in across the whole world it is now viewed more clearly the need of whole world to security to serenity and stability and peaceful coexistence.”
President said that every action without coordination with the government and permission of its nation is not fighting terrorism but its name is as [an act of] aggression.
President said that terrorism is a great treat for the peace and serenity of human life and for development in the region.
President Rouhani noted that to fight against terrorism should consider the roots of the problem.
Dr. Rouhani condemned the killing of innocent people by terrorist groups.
President Rouhani also stressed that the ISIS terrorists commonly known as Daesh simply wanted to put an end to the whole humanity.
He condemned beheading of innocent people by the radical terrorists, reasoning that based on the Islamic culture and principles, killing one single innocent person was like killing all mankind.
President has denounced ISIL terrorist group for its savagery and said US presence in the region has exacerbates the terrorism crisis since 2001.
Dr.Rouhani said that the US-led coalition against the ISIL group was not a serious movement and added that US had been present in the region since 2001 to fight terrorism in Iraq and Afghanistan but it not only did not solved the terrorism problem but exacerbated the crisis.
Asked about the extremists' beheading of American James Foley and Steven Sotloff and Briton David Haines, Dr.Rouhani said ISIL's actions were opposite to Islamic tenets.
President said that “who can really tolerate to see an innocent person be killed, it does not make ant different from our point of view, if the person is the Muslim, Jewish, Christian or is the followers of any other religion, it is not important to us to which nationality does he belong to.”
"They want to kill humanity," he said and added that "from the viewpoint of the Islamic tenets and culture, killing an innocent people equals the killing of the whole humanity. And therefore, the killing and beheading of innocent people in fact is a matter of shame for ISIL and it's the matter of concern and sorrow for humanity."
"Maybe it is necessary for airstrikes in some conditions and some circumstances," he added. "However, air strikes should take place with the permission of the people of that country and the government of that country."
Asked about nuclear talks he said the negotiations could still lead to a resolution. "Maybe the time could be negotiable, either today or tomorrow; however, we have no doubt that the only solution to the nuclear issue goes through negotiation," he said.
He also expressed optimism about Iran's warming relations with the United States. "The close relationship between the two nations can resolve many problems. A closer contact and relationship would also be beneficial for the American state person, and they can open new ways for the American politicians. We have to look at future more than the past," he said.
President Rouhani announced that Tehran does not support the US military operations in Iraq, describing any threats to the holy sites in the Arab country as red line for the Islamic Republic.
Dr.Rouhani said Tehran will not support US action in Iraq and described the US-led coalition against ISIL as “ridiculous”.
“This coalition is to some extent ridiculous as some members of the coalition are the ones who created these terrorists groups (operating in Syria and Iraq) and financed- and still finance- them…,” the president underscored.
Asked about Iran’s assistance to Iraq in its fight against the so-called Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), Dr.Rouhani said Tehran will provide Iraq with any support it requests for combating ISIL.
Meanwhile, the Iranian president described posing any threats to ‘Atabat’- Iraq’s holy cities like Karbala and Najaf- are Iran’s red line.
“When we say red line we mean it,” the president said. “It means we will not allow Baghdad to be occupied by the terrorists or the religious sites such as Karbala or Najaf to be occupied by the terrorists.”
